160,000 young people neither work nor study
160,000 young people neither work nor study. This became clear from the words of the Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva during an event of the Swiss Embassy related to the promotion of employment among the Roma population. They will be identified on a map.
"It is important to make a map to identify about 160,000 young people who are neither studying nor working. For this purpose we will use the positive experience of the Mechanism for the Reach of Children and Students in the Education System. We will also offer opportunities for validation of existing skills so that people in the communities can be fully realized in the labor market," Sacheva explained.
According to her, a serious emphasis in the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and in the Operational Program "Human Resources Development" is given to youth unemployment. The National Employment Action Plan will provide BGN 1.6 million for employment promotion programs.
"With the increase of the minimum wage, the remuneration of Roma mediators will be increased, who have a key role in identifying people and covering them on the labor market," Sacheva added.
