Over BGN 20 million have been paid under the measure "Keep me"

So far, BGN 20.2 million have been paid to 43,215 workers under the "Keep me" measure, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced.

Another BGN 13 million were provided for the payment of compensations by April, the ministry reminds.

Almost half of those approved for compensation are employees of restaurants and drinking establishments.

In January 2021, the changes under the project "Keep me" of the Employment Agency came into force, which provides financial compensation to employees on unpaid leave from closed businesses. Thus, a new way of forming the compensation for the period 01.01.2021 - 31.03.2021 was established.

The main change is that for a working day of 8 hours, agreed in the main employment contract, the compensation will amount to 75 percent of the monthly insurance income for October 2020 for the respective position of the person. Previously, the compensation was BGN 24 per day. The measure is already gaining publicity as "75/0".
