A new information system for state aid management has been launched
Consulting Center - Berkovitsa informs that the National Investment Management System - SUNI has already started working to help all sectors of the economy that apply for support and investments funded by the National Budget.
The new electronic system has been developed analogously to the Information System for Management of Monitoring of EU Funds in Bulgaria - UMIS 2020, through which projects with European funding have been submitted, implemented and reported completely electronically for several years now. Like UMIS 2020, SUNI electrifies the process of providing support in various sectors, but entirely from the country's budget, eliminating bureaucracy and paperwork.
The announcement of the first scheme for applying through SUNI is already a fact. It was announced by the Ministry of Tourism and aims to provide grants to people employed in the tourism sector to compensate for losses due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Under this scheme, the state will provide grants to tour operators and travel agents, grants amounting to 4 percent of their turnover excluding VAT in 2019, disclosed in the financial statements under the Accounting Act. The grant will be used as a priority to compensate for costs arising from customers who have refused vouchers who have not been reimbursed by service providers at the date of receipt of state aid, as well as to cover the costs incurred during the period for the main activity of the tour operator or travel agent. Tour operators can submit application forms online in the National Investment Management System until May 31, 2021. The total amount of financial assistance under the procedure is BGN 51 million, provided entirely from the state budget of the Republic of Bulgaria.
To make it easier for the applicants, the SUNI team has also prepared a short video, which clearly shows how to fill in the electronic application form in the system. The technical support of SUNI will be provided by the UMIS 2020 team.
