Techniques for Success: Warren Buffett's Tips for Professional Success

In December, billionaire investor and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett gave a virtual talk to students graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In his speech, Buffett gave advice to young people on how to succeed in their future professional careers. He advised graduates to read a lot, improve their communication skills and strive to find a job that they like and motivate them every day, Markets Insider reports.

"You have to look for the job you would choose if you didn't need money and for which you would jump out of bed every morning. I was lucky to have such a job and I can tell you that this is something you look forward to every day. You don't have to find this job the day you leave university, but it's out there somewhere," Buffett advises on each student's career choice.

Regarding the development of communication skills, Warren Buffett told the graduates: "You have to be able to write and speak well and develop a curious mind. At the age of 90, believe me, I met many people who became rich in their lives. but they did not succeed." And he adds that the real success is when in the old days you feel the love of your family, friends and colleagues.

Buffett's four favorite books

A well-known American investor recently revealed the four books in which Buffett recommended him to read. However, the same investor asked him if the books of Benjamin Graham, who was Buffett's mentor, were somewhat outdated. The reason - Graham wrote "Security Analysis" in 1934 and "Intelligent Investor" in 1949.

Warren Buffett, who has always used value investing taught by Graham for decades, points out that Graham's readers need to focus on chapters on investment psychology.

He also recommended reading two books by the late economic commentator George Goodman, who wrote under the pseudonym Adam Smith: "The Money Game" and "Supermoney".
