BNB RAISED THE MAIN INTEREST RATE

As of today, the main interest rate is 2.96 percent, the Bulgarian National Bank determined. Last month it was 2.77 percent.

The indicator is technical, but clearly reflects the trend of rising interest rates, BNR reports.

In April, the BNB also decided that from today - June 1st, banks will be required to set aside not 5, but 10 percent of minimum mandatory reserves - for the funds attracted by non-resident citizens who are not residing in our country.

From July 1, banks will have to set aside 12 percent of minimum reserves for the borrowed funds from everyone.
